About The Company
The GearMaster is made by GearMaster International, a division of Johnson Manufacturing company located near Salt Lake City, Utah. Johnson was incorporated in Michigan in 1949 and, for most of its recent history, was a manufacturer of small high-precision parts primarily for aerospace instruments and jet engines.
In 1995, the aerospace operations were sold and the GearMaster division was formed to develop and bring to market this new innovation for the trucking industry.
MANAGEMENT
KENT PRICE, President - born 1941. Graduated from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT with BS in Business Management in 1967. Received MBA from Harvard Business School, Boston, MA in 1969. From 1969 to 1975 employed by California Cedar Products Company in Stockton, California as plant manager. 1975-1981 employed by The Talley Corporation as Managing Director of its European subsidiary, Electro Pneumatic International, located in Hausham, Germany. 1982-1984 employed by Beatrice Foods Corp as president of Hekman Furniture Company, Grand Rapids, MI. Also served as acting group president of other Beatrice divisions. 1984-1986 employed by Thomas Industries as president of Colonial Manufacturing Company, Grand Rapids, MI. 1986-present owner/president of Johnson Manufacturing Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Draper, Utah. Concurrently: 1995-2000, vice president, Success Financial Group, Grandville, Michigan. 2000-2002, president, Liquitek Corporation and Distech Limited.
Entered the trucking industry in 1968 and has been an owner/operator, long-haul fleet driver, and driver trainer for over 30 years. Co-inventor or the GearMaster
